App Store In China Has Removed Nearly 50,000 Game Applications In One Month

Apple has reportedly removed a large number of gaming apps from the App Store in China.  Citing a report from Sensor Tower, it is estimated that about 48,000 mobile game applications have been removed within a month, during December 2020.

The removal of all such game applications is due to violations of the country's rules and regulations.  For those of you who do not know, the laws of China require every game application to receive a special license from the National Press and Publication Administration before being released to the public.

As reported, over 5,500 game applications were removed in July 2020 and followed by 27,000 in August.  During the 'cleaning' period of the unlicensed game applications, December 2020 saw a massive removal, with over 40,000 game applications being removed in just one day.

This proves that the Chinese government is cracking down on unlicensed gaming applications and does not comply with the country's rules and regulations.
